Accessory
The project draws inspiration from the original Margiela zip bracelet, but pushes it further through the use of high-end materials and refined detailing. This specific piece was designed by me and crafted by Vincent Guiron, a skilled fashion designer and pattern maker trained at ESMOD Lyon.
The Zip Tie is meant to be worn in place of a traditional tie, but can also function as a standalone necklace. The idea was to create the illusion of an additional layer within an outfit — a way to build complexity and depth without adding bulk.
My plan is to launch a full series of these ties with different colors, materials and finishes.
The bottom right picture shows when the idea first came up. During a styling session, Bricesuggested wrapping a loose zipper we had lying around around his neck. I loved the suggestion and decided to develop it further into a full piece.
